Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Traineeships

The UF PPC offers leadership training experiences for registered dietitian nutritionists and/or individuals completing supervised practice experiences to become eligible to take the registration examination for dietitians by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.

PPC nutrition trainees work with an interprofessional team of physicians, social workers, nurses, psychologists, pharmacists, and dietitians in outpatient clinics at the UF Health Center and Shands at UF. Trainees participate in lectures and team meetings focused on community-based, culturally- sensitive, family-based care for children and youth with pulmonary and sleep conditions. Nutrition trainees work with the PPC Faculty and Outpatient dietitian nutritionists on QI and research projects, professional presentations, and publications as available. They may individualize their learning experiences to fit their career goals. Many nutrition trainees have completed projects which resulted in presentations at state or national meetings.

Former PPC nutrition trainees are employed as inpatient dietitians at children’s hospitals across the country, outpatient dietitians at cystic fibrosis centers, faculty at major universities, or self-employed.
